1 Koningen 1, 1-4 : 

DE OUDE KONING DAVID :

"De koning David nu was oud, welbedaagd;

 en zij dekten hem met klederen, doch hij kreeg geen warmte.

 Toen zeiden zijn knechten tot hem :

 Laat ze voor mijn heer de koning een jongedochter, een maagd zoeken,

 die voor het aangezicht des konings sta en hem koestere; 

en zij slape in uw schoot, opdat mijn heer de koning warm worde. 

Zo zochten zij een schone jonge dochter 

in geheel het grond-gebied van Israel, 

en vonden Abisag, een Sunamietische, 

en brachten ze tot de koning. 

En de jonge-dochter was bovenmate schoon, en 

koesterde den koning en diende hem; doch de koning bekende ze niet..."

De dienaars van koning David, oud en seniel, legden de mooie Abisag uit Sunem bij hem in bed.
Het mocht niet baten; zijn geslacht kwam niet meer overeind.
Het gaat hier om de oudst bekende testosterontherapie ter wereld.  

Deze naar Abisag van Sunem genoemde praktijk van "sunamitisme" werd overigens
 tot aan de renaissance toegepast door jonge meisjes bij afgeleefde grijsaards in bed te leggen.

  "GOD WANTED TO KILL MOSES",

see Exodus 4, 24-26 :

"...During the journey, while they were encamped for the night,

the Lord met Moses,

meaning to kill him, 

but Moses' wife Zipporah picked up a sharp flint,

cut of her son's foreskin, 

and touched her husband  with it, saying : 

You are my blood-bridegroom. 

So the Lord let Moses alone..."

A very curious story.

Moses was not circumcised, 

he was educated at the court of the Pharaoh. 

God wants to punish this offence. 

But, Sippora, Moses'wife, 

can mislead the omniscient God : 

she smears blood of the circumcision of her son on her husband's genitals. 

So the Lord let the "circumcised" Moses alone.

STEFAN HERTMANS "De bekeerlinge"

Stefan Hertmans vertelt in zijn boek "De Bekeerlinge" over zijn bezoek aan de Joodse wijk in Caïro :

"...Ik stap door, en plots zie ik ze : de Ben Ezra-synagoge van Fustat,

 toentertijd bekend als Al-Shamiyin. 

De plek is legendarisch. 

Volgens de overlevering zou hier, 

bij de waterput achter het gebouw, 

de dochter van de farao de boreling Mozes in zijn mandje gevonden hebben; 

hier zou Mozes ook zijn opgegroeid.

 Net voor de synagoge ligt de oeroude kerk van Abu Serga,

 waar Jozef en Maria tijdens de door Herodes bevolen kindermoord heen zouden zijn gevlucht,

 en waar ze drie maanden zouden zijn gebleven..."
